In most cases the BCS is already running. Here's how to check and what to do if it isn't.
By default the BCS is installed as a service, which means it runs in the background automatically and is ready to use whenever needed. It's likely the BCS is already running on your computer.
To find out, run the connectivity test.
On Windows computers without administrative rights, the BCS will not install as a service. In these cases the default install location is on the Desktop.
To start the BCS manually, double-click thebcs.exe on your Desktop. A small window should appear confirming that it is now running in the background.
